The Wilkinson Public Library is proud to announce a new film series on the second Wednesday of every month that will showcase historical and in-depth documentaries. The purpose of this series is to create a dialogue about important issues that affect us and our communities. As Choices Cinema explains, "our films address many subjects and issues that are not addressed in the mainstream media." The first film in this series will examine the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. As the leading agency of the United States Government that looks into the welfare of the food industry, the FDA has received an honored and sometimes controversial place in the history of government regulatory agencies. Come and learn about the history of the FDA and how it has dealt with food issues as the first consumer protection agency in the United States.
