On Tuesday, May 1 at 12:00 p.m., Chef Bud,
with his wife Jennie in control, will be preparing this common but difficult
dish in Mexico’s culinary repertoire.
With chili peppers serving as the essential ingredient, Molé is a dark
brown sauce served over meat that combines ingredients from the native Nahuatl
culture and the European palette. For
this reason, Molé symbolizes Mexico’s mixed indigenous and European heritage
and tradition.
For those interested in tradition, this
will also be the 36th episode of Books and Cooks, marking the third
year of this popular program at the Wilkinson Public Library. With many people enjoying the off-season, the
library will be celebrating this anniversary at the next program on Tuesday,
June 5. In the meantime, community
members sitting in a slightly warmer climate can tune into Books and Cooks as
it airs live on www.telluridelibrary.org/wpltv.
